The new Lambchop album This (Is What I Wanted To Tell You) will be released via Merge Records March 22 on CD, vinyl and peak vinyl. Continuing Kurt’s exploration of analog electronic sounds this beautiful and brooding collaboration features band leader Kurt Wagner, Bon Iver collaborator Matthew McCaughan, and longtime Lambchop members Tony Crow and Matt Swanson, alongside veteran Nashville pedal steel player Charlie McCoy.
The mighty Mountain Goats announce the upcoming release of their latest album ‘In League With Dragons’ April 26th on Merge records. Formats include CD, digital download, 2LP Vinyl, Peak vinyl, Hardcore vinyl and all streaming services.
THE MOUNTAIN GOATS ARE JOHN DARNIELLE, PETER HUGHES, JON WURSTER, AND MATT DOUGLAS. THEY HAVE BEEN MAKING MUSIC TOGETHER AS A QUARTET FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THREE OF THEM LIVE IN NORTH CAROLINA AND ONE HAS MOVED BACK TO ROCHESTER. THEIR SONGS OFTEN SEEK OUT DARK LAIRS WITHIN WHICH TERRIBLE MONSTERS DWELL, BUT THEIR MISSION IS TO RETRIEVE THE TREASURE FROM THE DARK LAIR & PERSUADE THE TERRIBLE MONSTERS INSIDE TO SEEK OUT THE PATH OF REDEMPTION. AS AXL ROSE ONCE MEMORABLY ASKED, IN THE SONG “TERRIBLE MONSTER”: “WHAT’S SO TERRIBLE ABOUT MONSTERS, ANYWAY?” THIS IS THE QUESTION THE MOUNTAIN GOATS HAVE BEEN DOGGEDLY PURSUING SINCE 1991. THEY WILL NEVER LEAVE OFF THIS QUEST UNTIL EVERY OPTION HAS BEEN EXHAUSTED. THANK YOU.
The Mountain Goats will be on tour through 2019.

Pitchfork showed a lot of love for us last week. They posted some sweet biz about two of our artists!! Here's the roundup in case you missed them.
First up is a review of William Tyler's new album Impossible Truth. The album was just released on Merge last week, and has been getting some amazing praise all around. If you missed seeing Tyler's buzzed about performances at SXSW, don't worry!!, he goes on tour next month. You can grab details on where to see him right here. You won't want to miss it! In the meantime, you can read Pitchfork's glowing review of Impossible Truth right here.
Next up, Sonny & The Sunsets released a new song "Dark Corners" in anticipation of a new LP, and some special Record Store Day releases. You can check out the song for yourself, and read what Pitchfork thought of it right here!
We are thrilled to have the young guitar genius and Lambchop collaborator William Tyler in the Pacific Electric family. William burned up Austin with selections from his new album "Impossible Truth" (out Tuesday, March 19 on Merge Records). See what Randall Roberts from the LA Times had to say about William's performance at the Merge showcase here.
We're proud to announce our recent signing of William Tyler to our roster of amazing writers here at Pacific Electric! Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee Tyler has collaborated with many artists in the country and folk scene and is currently playing lead guitar with Lambchop. Apart from that Tyler has released a couple solo albums, the latest Behold The Spirit received some very kind words from Pitchfork upon it's release. Tyler recently signed with Merge Records and will be releasing a new album early 2013.
Take a listen to "Tears and Saints," one of his gorgeous instrumental folk musings below.

Consequence of Sound premiered the Sonny & The Sunsets' video for "Pretend You Love Me" yesterday, and it's a beautiful stream of retro-filtered home movies and behind the scenes fun with the band. The good times and aimlessy street wandering that are on display play well against the melancholy laid-back tone of the song. Check it out, and don't forget to grab Sonny & The Sunsets' newest release Longtime Companion available everywhere right now, and see Sonny & The Sunsets on tour this summer!!

X founding members and singers Exene Cervenka and John Doe have formally released their first studio recordings together since 1993 on Singing and Playing, from the new Orange County-based Moonlight Graham Records label.
The collection comes on the heels of John Doe's highly acclaimed 2011 LP Keeper and includes seven studio tracks they recorded together in 2010 and previously sold only at stops on their joint tour that year. Those recordings are supplemented by two songs Doe and Cervenka recorded live last year at Moonlight Graham’s store in downtown Orange, including an updated rendition of X’s “See How We Are.”
X continues to tour the US and will head to Europe in support of Pearl Jam next month. You can find those tour dates here (http://xtheband.com).
